President Aoun received Bishop Issam Darwish and the Ambassador of Senegal on a farewell visit

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received Archbishop of Ferzol, Zahle and Bekaa for the Melkite Greek Catholic Archbishop, Issam Youhanna Darwish, today at the Presidential Palace.

The Bishop thanked President Aoun for awarding him the Lebanese Order of Merit, in appreciation of his spiritual gifts and his social, health and cultural activities.

During the meeting the discussion dealt with the general situation in the country in general and in the Zahle and Bekaa regions in particular.

Senegalese Ambassador:

The President also met Senegal's ambassador to Lebanon, Abdel Ahad Mbaki,on a farewell visit to mark the end of his diplomatic missions in Lebanon. Ambassador Mbaki was accompanied by the Second Counselor at the Embassy, ​​LIBASSE GAYE, and the Honorary Consul of Senegal in Lebanon, Zaher Makhdir.

President Aoun commended the efforts made by Ambassador Mbaki during his work to strengthen Lebanese-Senegalese relations in all fields, wishing him success in his new duties.

In addition, the President received two cables of congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr from the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazwani, and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.​
