John Beag Ó Flatharta in Concert in Strule Arts Cenre

John Beag Ó Flatharta in Concert in Strule Arts Cenre

Published: 1st November 2017

Renowned Connemara singer John Beag Ó Flatharta will perform in Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Friday 10 November at 8pm. With years of experience of playing in venues across Ireland, England and the USA where he lived for many years, John Beag will be making his first appearance in Tyrone and only appearance in Ulster on his current Irish tour.

An artist who has created a niche for himself and others singing country music in Irish and ballads in English, John Beag has had huge success. He blends English ballads with the Connemara sean-nós and tints songs composed in the Irish language with a rich dollop of the rhythm found in American country music straight from the sidewalks of Nashville.

John Beag will be supported by Seán Mac Corraidh from Belfast. Seán is a traditional singer who has a great repertoire of Ulster songs in both Irish and English. He will be accompanied by two traditional musicians, adding to his range of music.

This concert is being promoted by the Irish language development unit of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. Tickets costing £5 can be purchased from the Box Office in Strule Arts Centre by phoning 028 82247831 or on line at www.struleartscentre.co.uk
