Sheriff's Investigator Struck by SUV

Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports that on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at about 7:38PM an Investigator from the Putnam County Sheriff's Department was struck by a motor vehicle while directing traffic on Route 6 in Mahopac. The Investigator sustained injuries as a result of being struck by the SUV. Due to the injuries and the mechanism of injury, the Investigator was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department's Ambulance where it was determined that the injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The accident is currently being investigated the Town of Carmel Police Department. I would like to thank the Town of Carmel Police Department the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department and the staff at Danbury Hospital along with the members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department for their professionalism in the handling of this incident. #putnamsheriffNY #putnamcountyNY #mahopacNY #carmelNY
