Abkhazia hosts "Army-2022" military-technical forum with a showcase of modern weaponry of the military base of the Southern Military District.

The forum will be held in the 'Patriot' park of the Russian compound in Gudauta. The soldiers will demonstrate to the guests the latest military equipment and small arms in service at the base of the Southern Military District.

The forum will showcase wheeled military vehicles and small arms, including the latest BTR-82AM armoured personnel carriers, anti-aircraft missile systems, multiple-launch rocket systems Grad, Tigr armoured vehicles, cannons, communications stations, anti-tank missile systems and other weapons on specially prepared exhibition sites.

The forum will also feature cultural, artistic and military-patriotic entertainment venues, sports-military games, contract military recruitment points and field kitchens.

The Southern Military District's congress and exhibition events will take place between 19 and 21 August 2022. The forum will be open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

About 250 specimens, including five aircraft and 27 ships and boats, are scheduled to be on display at the static display areas for weapons and military equipment.
