Local Health Officials Urge Participants in its Women, Infants & Children’s (WIC) Program Use Caution Before Eating Jif Peanut Butter

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District urges local WIC recipients to check product labels on Jif peanut butter jars after recent salmonella outbreaks resulted in nationwide recalls.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises consumers not to eat or serve Jif brand peanut butter with product code numbers 1274425-425 through 2140425-425. The recall impacts many types of Jif peanut butter, including creamy, crunchy, natural, and reduced-fat products.

WIC program participants can apply for Jif peanut butter replacement jars by completing a recall contact form available online at https://www.jif.com/recall-form.

WIC beneficiaries with questions or concerns should contact WIC Program Director Kathrine Galvan at (361) 826 -1355 or email at [email protected].
