TFD Extinguishes Car Fire that Extended into a Residence

August 27, 2021

Today, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to the report of a possible car fire located near a residential structure.

On arrival at 2436 Jolene Lane, units were met with a car whose engine compartment was on fire. At the time, the flames from the car had spread into the single-story residential structure. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and determine that no one was inside the structure.

No injuries were reported on scene, and damages are reported to be around $35,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by TFD. The Red Cross was called out to assist the residents.
