Kaptur Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs LawPress ReleaseJobs and the EconomyEnergy

Washington, D.C.- Today, Representative Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement celebrating the one-year of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

On November 15, 2021, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was signed into law, laying the foundation for the largest federal investment in American infrastructure in generations. To date, more than $5 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding has been announced for over 150 projects across Ohio. Rep. Kaptur joined all Ohio Democrats and Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) and Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH-16) to pass the legislation in the House and Senate.

"Rebuilding Ohio's crumbling infrastructure is both commonsense and bipartisan," said Rep. Kaptur. "Potholes are being filled, bridges rebuilt, lead pipes replaced, and highspeed broadband internet deployed. All of this is made possible through smart partnership between Republicans and Democrats - and it's putting Ohioans to work in good-paying jobs. Going forward, Congress needs to bring this same collaborative spirit to the variety of challenges we face, and I'll work with anyone to advance these 'Big Middle' priorities for the American people."

Infrastructure investments in Ohio over five years

  • $1 billionfor the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative
  • $9.8 billionfor roads and bridges
  • $1.4 billionfor public transportation
  • $1.4 billionfor water infrastructure
  • $100 millionfor broadband internet
