RE:Alpine County Operational Update
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CALTRANS ANNOUNCES HIGHWAY 89 ROAD RE-OPENING TO ONE-WAY CONTROLLED TRAFFIC EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, AUGUST 18, 2022. Alpine County WILL hold THE FINAL operational BRIEFING on FRIDAY, AUGUST 19, 2022.
The final briefing will take place Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11 AM located in the Alpine County Board Chambers - 99 Water St., Markleeville CA 96120. There will be no additional public briefings after this date.
Effective 6:00 PM, August 18, 2022, The Sheriff's Office will discontinue the morning and evening escorts and the emergency access road will be closed. Any unforeseen delays may change escort operations, but at this time there will be no additional escorts through the construction area.
