City Accepts Financial Assistance for Airport

At their April 23 meeting, the Pierre City Commission approved the use of $5,500 from the city's Fuel Tax Fund allotment to pay for a year's subscription to Virtower. Virtower provides 24/7 monitoring of key airport operations including takeoffs, landings, pavement utilization, and based aircraft operations.

The Fuel Tax Fund is collected and monitored by the State Aeronautics Commission; last month, the Aeronautics Commission approved the use of the funds for the Virtower subscription.
