National Assembly continues work of regular sittings

On May 2, the National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings and passed by voting the draft laws debated on the previous day.

Afterwards, the deputies continued the debate of the annual report on the activity of the Commission on Television and Radio (CTR) for 2023.

During the period allocated for the speeches, reacting to the question of the deputy of the Civil Contract Babken Tunyan if it is possible to do more in terms of security, than it is in the process and what will the opposition do instead of them, the Head of the RA NA Armenia Faction Seyran Ohanyan noted that there were shortcomings before too, which at present should not be repeated and multiplied.

Seyran Ohanyan touched upon the situation created in the country and the security problems of Armenia. According to the deputy, one of the irreversible steps for peace is the implementation of delimitation and demarcation in accordance with legal, international norms. He spoke about the necessity of the reforms of the army, considered necessary to carry out a process aimed at unblocking the Republic of Armenia. According to him, our region cannot become a platform of power centres' interests and competition, and our position should turn into geopolitical potential.

In his speech the Secretary of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Artur Hovhannisyan referred to the current situation of the country and the issues on the security problems voiced by the Head of the Armenia Faction Seyran Ohanyan, the positions and the actions shown by the opposition.

Assessing the work done by the CTR, the Secretary of the Faction noted that the Commission also sees all the problems, which are in the field. Artur Hovhannisyan assured that the cooperation with Commission will continue.

In his final speech the CTR Chairman Tigran Hakobyan mentioned that all the proposals, concerns and criticism were registered. They will be taken into consideration during the further activities.
