Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hosts SPIEF 2024 Presentation for Foreign Ambassadors

The briefing was attended by the heads of more than 50 diplomatic missions in Russia.

"A long-standing tradition brought us together once again to talk about Russia's upcoming economic and international flagship event, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Forum is one of the most significant economic events of the year, and the Northern Capital will be hosting it for the 27th time. The atmosphere on the banks of the Neva River during the beautiful white nights has always been especially conducive to fruitful discussion," Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Dmitry Birichevsky said.

During the presentation, the briefing participants said that there will be an expedited format to obtain visas for foreign participants who do not enjoy a visa-free regime with the Russian Federation. To do this, representatives of the delegation must contact the Russian consular office abroad with an invitation from the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

"New ideas are born at the SPIEF, and business, economic, political, and environmental strategies are discussed. As we know, the environment occupies one of the most important places in the minds of politicians and businessmen, because we have only one planet and we must protect it. The Forum is definitely one of the highlights in the calendar of the Roscongress Foundation - a socially oriented non-financial development institution that holds a large number of events primarily with an economic and political agenda - but all our events are accompanied by sports and cultural activities that help establish more trust-based and stronger relationships among participants,"Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev said.

As in previous years, delegation participants coming from a country that does not enjoy visa-free travel to the Russian Federation can have their visas processed more quickly by applying to a Russian consular office abroad with an invitation from the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

The invitation can be downloaded in the personal web office. More detailed information about invitations for participants coming from abroad can be found on the official Forum website at forumspb.com.

"As always, the Forum seeks more than anything to serve as a practical tool for businesses to identify and overcome barriers and develop in new ways.SPIEF is, first and foremost, a platform for dialogue, and we are very proud that it is attended by business representatives looking to do business in Russia as well as entrepreneurs from every continent seeking to communicate with each other in Russia. Every year we improve SPIEF infrastructure to make it more convenient for negotiations and the conclusion of agreements," Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and SPIEF Director Alexey Valkov said.

Representatives of the media are invited to register on the official SPIEF website at forumspb.com/ru/registration/media until 1 May.

The 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is scheduled for 5-8 June 2024.
