Congratulations, High School Seniors!

High school graduations are among my favorite community events. We gather together to celebrate and acknowledge our Seniors and their accomplishments.

These are our children and the children we watched grow up in our neighborhoods, our faith communities, our schools, and our friendship groups.

We have congratulated them for their academic achievements, applauded them at their concerts and performances, and cheered them on the athletic field and court.

We have watched as they learned to ride their bikes and seemingly, in the blink of an eye, they now have their driver's licenses.

As a community, we have invested in their lives in important ways, and they have contributed to ours.

Whether their next opportunities and adventures take them away, bring them back, or keep them here within our community, I am sure Hillsboro will always have a special place in their hearts, as they will have a special place in ours.

Good luck, Seniors! Go and change the world!
