DALLAS - Join Dallas ISD's third Cultural Intelligence Town Hall this evening at 5 p.m., hosted by the Racial Equity Office. Our goal is to stimulate thoughtful conversation for our students, parents and community members and provide them with the tools they need to create an anti-racist school community grounded in equity. The town hall will include an audience Q&A session on this and related topics.

'Finish Strong 21' begins with success
Hundreds of high school seniors returned to their campuses today for in-person learning, as part of Dallas ISD's 'Finish Strong 21' campaign. To ensure that seniors still have the opportunity to make their final year memorable, the district prepared a safety guide for schools to partake in fun activities and plans for in-person graduation.

Applications for the Texas William H. Cotton Scholarship are now open
Dallas ISD educators can now apply for the $20,000 Credit Union of Texas William H. Cotton Scholarship. To do so, scholarship applicants must be district faculty members or administrators, hold credit union membership and a checking account, and plan to pursue advanced education with the intent to continue serving in Dallas ISD. The deadline to apply is June 1, 2021.

Dallas ISD looks for a different mindset to address school discipline
Principals, teachers, parents and students are collaborating to rethink and eliminate out-of-school suspensions with a system of support and accountability. Some of these discussions include training for additional staff on social and emotional practices and conflict resolution. Serious infractions would still go through the disciplinary alternative education program.

Dallas ISD April job fair
We are looking for innovative, enthusiastic team members with the courage to lead, to join our family. In the coming months, several hiring events will take place where candidates will be able to meet and interview with principals and the hiring team. The next job fair will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 20. Applicants can sign up here for the event.

Zan Wesley Holmes Middle School students to receive eye care and glasses
At 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 20 students at Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Middle School will receive eye exams and complimentary eyeglasses at a pop-up eye clinic hosted by One Community USA and the Lions Club of Oak Cliff.
