Mulching operations to begin on East Troublesome fire scar July 6

KREMMLING, Colo. - The Kremmling Field Office and agency partners will begin staging wood mulch as early as July 6 for future aerial mulching operations on the East Troublesome fire scar.

About 100 semitruck loads of mulch is expected to be staged, and BLM road 2760A will be closed for approximately three weeks during project implementation.

The staging area will be used to stockpile mulch for loading into nets by ground crews with a front end loader. Helicopters will hover over the site as the nets are attached/detached. Aerial application will begin as early as July 14 on about 1,000 acres of BLM administered land.
