Bulgartransgaz EAD launched the first public procurement for the realisation of the Vertical Gas Corridor

The Bulgarian gas transmission operator launched an open procedure in accordance with the Public procurement Act for the Spatial planning, investment design, procurement of the necessary materials and equipment, construction and commissioning of new sites for expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure of Bulgartransgaz EAD in order to increase the capacities at interconnection points Kulata/Sidirikastro and Negru Voda/Kardam. The public procurement is in three lots with a total estimated value of BGN 586 669 410,00 (five hundred and eighty-six million six hundred and sixty-nine thousand four hundred and ten), VAT excluded. The projects for the expansion of capacity from Greece to Bulgaria and from Bulgaria to Romania are a key part of the Vertical Gas Corridor and the implementation of the objectives for the diversification and improvement of the security of supply. The realisation of the projects will provide the technical opportunity for the gas transmission network of Bulgartransgaz EAD to transport increasing quantities of natural gas from diversified reliable sources from south to north.

The first lot is for the site "Looping from Kulata to Kresna" that will be realised in three stages, implemented simultaneously: pipeline network part, pigging station of Kulata gas pipeline and pigging station of Kresna gas pipeline. The project includes the construction of a gas pipeline, high pressure, with a diameter of DN 700 and a length of about 48 km, as well as auxiliary technological equipment. The estimated value of this position amounts to BGN 132 269 410,00 (one hundred and thirty-two million two hundred and sixty-nine thousand four hundred and ten), VAT excluded.

The second lot is with subject matter - Transmission Gas Pipeline from Piperevo to Pernik that will be realised in three stages, executed simultaneously: pipeline network part, pigging facilities of Piperevo 2 gas pipeline and AGRS Radomir. The project includes the construction of a high pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of DN 500 and a length of about 53 km, AGRS Radomir and a gas pipeline branch to it as well as auxiliary technological equipment. The estimated value of this position amounts to BGN 100 579 950,00 (one hundred and five hundred and seventy-nine thousand nine hundred and fifty), VAT excluded.

The third position is "Looping from Rupcha to Vetrino" in two stages, implemented simultaneously: pipeline network part and pigging facilities of Vetrino gas pipeline. The project includes the construction of a high pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of DN 1200 and a length of about 61 km and the auxiliary equipment. The estimated value totals to 353 820 050,00 (three hundred and fifty-three million eight hundred and twenty thousand and fifty), VAT excluded.

The most economically advantageous offer for each position will be determined based on the selected best value for money awarding criterion according to indicators, including the organisation for implementation of the activities provided for by the participants and the proposed price.

The financing of the activities from the scope of the procurement will be in accordance with the decisions under items 2 and 3 of the decision adopted by the 49th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria on 14 March 2024 on to take actions in relation to the Vertical Corridor initiative of the gas transmission operators of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova.
