On June 3, 2022, the Inter-American Investment Corporation ("IDB Invest"), in its own capacity, and in its limited capacity as agent acting on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank, as administrator of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative, closed on a $70 million unsecured subordinated loan to Banco Agrícola, S.A. ("Banco Agrícola"), a Salvadoran financial institution. The proceeds of the subordinated loan will be used by Banco Agrícola to support its supplementary capital structure and for the origination of sub-loans to small and medium sized enterprises in El Salvador, with an emphasis on Salvadoran women-owned/led small and medium sized enterprises.
