San Antonio (July 5, 2022) - San Antonio International Airport (SAT) has been awarded a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Pavement Management and Maintenance Program (PMMP). This grant is funded from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act - Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) as a part of the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program. The AIG is intended to modernize our nation's infrastructure through capital investments in airports. The BIL was signed into law by President Biden on November 15, 2021.

The grant awarded to SAT is in the amount of $408,000.00 for the purpose of conducting a pavement condition rating study. SAT will use the funds to evaluate airfield pavement conditions in order to identify needs and develop a maintenance program for future airfield pavement improvements. SAT will receive additional grants funds under the AIG program in the future.

"We are very appreciative of our Congressional delegation from Texas for their bipartisan support that has led to our receipt of this grant award," said Jesus Saenz, Jr., Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System. "This funding allocation will allow us to continue to maintain and improve San Antonio's Airport System, as we continue to provide the City of San Antonio with an authentic and elevated travel experience."
