Abazović and Kovač host representatives of European Jewish Association

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and Minister of Justice Marko Kovač hosted representatives of the European Jewish Association led by Rabbi Menachem Margolin and Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Religious Community Ari Edelkopf.

We are open to all religious communities. Montenegro pursues a liberal policy and wants to cooperate with all well-meaning people, without making distinctions based on ethnicity, political or religious beliefs, said Prime Minister Abazović.

Director of the European Jewish Association Alex Benjamin, Chair of the Jewish community in the Netherlands Ellen van Praagh, and Head of Rome's Jewish community Riccardo Pacifici were present at the meeting.

The European Jewish Community praised the Montenegrin Government's attitude towards the Jewish Religious Community and pointed out that Montenegro is an example of how minorities and religious organisations should be treated. They thanked for the reception and reiterated their congratulations on the election of the 43rd Government of Montenegro and appointment of Prime Minister Abazović.

Thank you for your modesty, courage and ambition. You are making that all citizens of Montenegro feel like they are part of a family, said Chief Rabbi of Montenegro Ari Edelkopf.
