Franklin Road Corridor Safety Improvements Underway in Cranberry Township, Butler County

​Indiana, PA - PennDOT announces lane closures on Franklin Road as the safety improvement project in Cranberry Township, Butler County continues.

Single lane closures for tree trimming and the installation of environmental controls began on April 25 on Franklin Road (Route 3021) between Route 228 and Peters Road and will continue through June 3, 2024. The lane closures will take place between 9 AM - 3 PM weekdays. During these single lane closures, one lane of traffic will be maintained with flagging operations.

This is a safety improvement project that includes shoulder widening, installation of edge-line rumble strips, and sight distance improvements along Franklin Road. This is a four-year project which has a current completion date in early November 2027.

Contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA will be completing this four-year $19.1 million project.
