Center Street parking lot closed Monday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The City of Fayetteville's Center Street surface parking lot will be closed to the public Monday, April 22, for surface treatment maintenance.

The lot - located north of Center, south of Meadow Street and east of Church Avenue - is anticipated to reopen the following day; however, inclement weather or unforeseen conditions could delay or extend the estimated work time. The alleyway between the lot and the businesses on N. Block Ave. will remain open during the maintenance.

The City manages 10 public parking lots in the Downtown Business and Dickson Street Entertainment districts. The surface lots are asphalt that periodically require general maintenance, such as crack seal, seal coat, restriping, patching and bumper block replacements. More comprehensive maintenance occurs on a less frequent basis.

Parking Manager Justin Clay said Monday's maintenance of the lot will focus on crack sealing, and resurfacing will be completed in the near future.
