Lenin square in Chita witnessed a parade of foot formations and a mechanized column as well as an aviation flyover dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The servicemen of the Eastern Military District and security agencies as well as 'Yunarmiya' youth patriotic movement participants marched accompanied by a combined military band in Chita.
The mechanized column was headed by a legendary Soviet T-34 tank. The column included more than 50 vehicles in service with the units of Chita's garrison. Lenin square witnessed T-72 tanks, the 'Buk' and S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, the 'Iskander-M' tactical missile systems, and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. The novelties of this year's Victory parade included the 'Leer-3' countermeasures radar station and 'Tiger' armored vehicles.
The aviation stage of the parade in Chita saw 10 aircraft in service with the Eastern Military District, including a flight of Su-30SM fighters, a pair of the Mi-8 helicopters and a flight of the Mi-24 helicopters.
