Lincoln Police Release Name of Stabbing Victim | 1300 block N 27th St

Lincoln Police Department is releasing the name of the stabbing victim from Friday, July 1, 2022. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Austin Gress of Lincoln. He was stabbed during a fight over a bicycle in the alley, near a convenience store, at N 27th and Dudley Streets. He died at the scene.

We appreciate the patience of our community in giving our investigators time to ensure the family was notified before we released his name publicly. We extend our condolences to the victim's family and friends and ask the public to respect their privacy as they grieve the loss of their loved one.

Crime Scene Investigators worked the scene until 4:30 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022. This continues to be an active investigation. Currently the whereabouts of the suspect are unknown.
