Golf's longest running tournament on the PGA Tour hosted at the same place tees off the week of May 20 at Fort Worth's Colonial Country Club.

The 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge will attract the top names in golf to compete to wear the tartan jacket on Memorial Day weekend.

Tournament dates:

  • Practice rounds: May 20-21
  • Pro Am round: May 22
  • Tournament: May 23-26

Here is what you should know about City services during Colonial week:

South University Drive construction

Improvements are being made to South University Drive to make the popular north-south thoroughfare safer, more convenient and more aesthetically pleasing. The project is adding a median to enhance safety and will improve pedestrian and transit facilities.

The current phase of the project affects South University Drive from West Rosedale Street to Riverfront Drive.

Existing pavement will be milled May 12-14, following by repaving May 15-19, and finally striping May 19-20. All lanes of traffic will be open during the Colonial event. The project is expected to be completed by mid-June.

Solid waste collection near the event

Residents on a small number of streets closest to the country club will see a change in their garbage pickup day during tournament week, and their bulk pickup week has been shifted.

These households will be notified by a hand-delivered letter the week before the tournament.
