Animals held in Tablelands Regional Council's (TRC's) pound are benefitting from a generous donation by a local resident.
TRC Mayor Joe Paronella was delighted at the contribution,
'Michele Morris has donated around $10,000 worth of goods to help us make the pound more comfortable for the animals we hold there.
'She purchased a washing machine, dryer, fridge, cupboards, laundry sink, cat cages, dog beds and hot water system from local businesses.
'McMahon's Betta Electrical, Bunnings Atherton and Tableland Tilt Truck Hire delivered the goods for free to our pound and Eclipse Fabrication, McMahon's Betta Electrical, Atherton Gas and Camping, Pets to Pamper and Bunnings Atherton provided substantial discounts.
'It is fantastic to see residents and businesses collaborating with us to improve the quality and effectiveness of our services.
'I'm proud to be a part of such a generous community and can't thank Ms Morris enough for her compassion and foresight.
'Our Local Laws officers can now provide an enhanced level of service to our impounded animals,' said Mayor Paronella.
Remember microchipping and registration is compulsory and assists reuniting animals and their owners.
If your pet is missing, check the TRC website and contact them on 1300 342 242.
