In accordance with the plan for a field training at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region, the servicemen of the anti-aircraft missile formation of the Southern Military District conducted an exercise to repel a mock enemy's missile strike at the command post of troops.
During the exercise, the crews of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems performed combat training missions for the air defence of the designated area. Electronic missile launches against air targets were performed both from stationary equipped positions and as part of convoys while moving with a short stop.
Also during the exercise, anti-aircraft gunners improved their skills in changing and camouflage starting positions, bringing equipment from a traveling position to a combat position, organizing a communication and control system between units.
Based on the results of the exercise, the exercise management apparatus noted the high operational readiness of the military personnel of the formation to conduct reconnaissance of the air situation, repel sudden air strikes of a mock enemy, determine the coordinates of targets and their effective destruction both under normal conditions and when the enemy uses electronic warfare.
All training activities at the field training are carried out in order to prepare personnel for participation in the strategic command post Kavkaz-2020 exercise.
In total, more than 30 units of weapons and special air defence equipment were involved in the exercises at the training ground.
