Premier Li Keqiang met with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat in Beijing on May 23.
The Premier conveyed his hope for both sides to carry forward high-level exchanges as well as the mechanism for bilateral cooperation at the vice-prime ministerial level, and to better align the Belt and Road Initiative with Singapore's development strategy.
He also called for facilitating the construction of a new land-sea transit route, exploring cooperation in the third-party market, extending cooperation in trade, investment, finance and smart city construction and promoting local exchanges.
Premier Li stressed that China's opening-up has not only brought benefits to Chinese people, but also created great opportunities for the world. China will devote more efforts in opening-up its market, he said.
Enterprises from all countries are welcome to expand investment in China, and they will be treated the same as Chinese ones, he said, pledging that China will continue to improve its business environment, encourage fair competition and strive for win-win results.
China is ready to guard the rule-based free trade with Singapore, and together maintain peace and development for the two countries and the world, the Premier said.
For his part, Heng Swee Keat expressed his good wishes on the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. He said that 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Singapore, which will bring the bilateral ties to a higher starting point.
Singapore is willing to enhance high-level exchanges with China, deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and play a more active role to boost relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
He Lifeng, head of the National Development and Reform Commission, also attended the meeting.
