Within the next four years, TGC-1 PJSC will build a small hydro power plant (SHPP) in the Murmansk Oblast. The plant will allow TGC-1 PJSC to increase its power generation, while modern equipment and technologies ensure the reliability of the new generation facility.
The project was selected by ATS (100% subsidiary of the NP Market Council Association) out of 6 applications for the SHPP construction submitted by various companies.
The new plant will use the water resources of the Paz River to generate electricity. The facility will not become a new step of the Paz HPPs cascade, which will make it possible to use the existing water-energy mode with maximum efficiency.
The installed capacity of the SHPP will be 16.5 MW. It will annually supply 66 million kWh of electricity to the Unified Energy System of Russia.
The announcement of a tender for the hydro power plant construction is scheduled for 2022. The commissioning should take place in December 2024. The name of the new SHPP will be approved during the project implementation phase.
TGC-1 PJSC (part of Gazprom Energoholding Group) is the leading producer and supplier of electricity and heat power in the North-West of Russia. It comprises 52 power plants within four constituent entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts.
