Town Council Public Hearing 2/15 on Property Owner-Requested LUO Amendments

The Bar Harbor Town Council will hold public hearings, pursuant to Bar Harbor Land Use Ordinance, Chapter 125, section 125-9, on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom videoconference to consider placing the following amendments to the Town Code, Chapter 125 on the annual Town Meeting Warrant for June 14, 2022.

• Rezoning of the Oceanarium and Education Center land from Shoreland Limited Residential District to Marine Research District: Request of Jeff Cumming for property located at 1351 State Highway 3, to be changed from "Shoreland Limited Residential District" to the "Marine Research District."

• Expansion of the Scientific Research for Eleemosynary Purposes District: Request of The Jackson Laboratory to expand the "Scientific Research for Eleemosynary Purposes" district to include property located between Route 3 and Schooner Head Road, and land located off Schooner Head Road at Bear Brook.
