On December 7, 2019, members of the Detective Bureau, with the assistance of the Cranston Police Department, the Providence Police Department, and the Attorney General's Office arrested Anthony T. McKinney, age 28, of 485 Plainfield Street, Apt. 1, Providence, RI for 1) Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety; 2) Duty to Stop in Accidents Resulting in Damage to Vehicle; and 3) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from Providence Police for Simple Assault Domestic and Larceny under $1,500.00. McKinney was processed at the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Lazieh and then remanded to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center; due to being a Providence Superior Court Probation Violator. McKinney is scheduled to be re-arraigned at Sixth Division District Court on December 9, 2019. This arrest involved a Cranston Police Officer involved shooting where the suspect was not injured.
