Defence Ministry Staffers join in New Year sweetmeats tradition before resuming duties

As the Sinhala and Tamil New Year unfolds, traditions take the centre stage of any occasion. Hence, the Defence Ministry staffers, along with Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne gathered at the Defence Ministry premises and partook in the cherished tradition 'New Year sweetmeats table', in the morning today (Apr 16).

General Gunaratne honoured this tradition with a gathering of civil and military staffers at the sweetmeats table, laden with an array of delectable treats that served as a symbol of camaraderie, marking the transition from festivities to the resumption of duties.

Highlighting the solidarity within the Ministry, the high officials extended their 'Sinhala and Tamil New Year' wishes to the Ministry staffers, a gesture that was warmly reciprocated.
