Shooting Investigation Underway in Portland's North Tabor Neighborhood - One Person Injured

On Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 8:51 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of people hearing gunfire in the 6600 block of Northeast Flanders Street.

As officers responded to the area, a caller to 9-1-1 reported someone had been shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male with gunshot wounds lying on the street. Emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital by ambulance with what were believed to be serious life-threatening injuries.

Officers performed a neighborhood block search for the suspect with the assistance of a canine team, but the suspect has not been located at this time. Based on preliminary information, there is not believed to be an immediate danger to the public in relation to this shooting.

During a canvas of the area, officers located evidence of gunfire.

This incident is in the early stages of the investigation.

Detectives with the Detective Division's Robbery Detail were notified and have responded to lead this investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have responded to the assist with the investigation.
