WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after meeting with United Kingdom Secretary of State for International Trade Anne-Marie Trevelyan:

"It was a pleasure to meet with Secretary Trevelyan and discuss the United States and United Kingdom's special partnership and common values. I emphasized my interest in deepening our bilateral investment and trade ties, as well as my firm support for the Good Friday Agreement and the importance of its preservation for peace on the island of Ireland. We spoke of the need to pursue policies that empower workers and combat the climate crisis, and the opportunity for our nations to work together to address issues related to unfair trade practices of non-market economies like China, WTO reform, and global supply chain challenges. I look forward to our continued communication and engagement."
