Eight projects worth about $60 million will be completed this year. New enterprises in Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent, Navoi, Jizzakh and Tashkent regions will master the production of 11 new types of products, set up manufacturing products worth 450 billion UZS per year, which will replace imports by $15 million and ensure exports of almost $30 million. These enterprises will employ 260 people.

Feasibility studies are currently being developed for 18 projects worth more than $2.6 billion.

In general, as a result of the projects planned for this year and the future, the production capacity will reach $3 billion and the export potential of the industry - $1.3 billion. About 3,500 people will be employed at the new enterprises.

Another important aspect is that after the launching of enterprises, the volume of production based on deep processing of natural gas will exceed $2.1 billion. That is, the added value will increase by 14 times.

It is planned to create 3 large technological clusters in Navoiazot, Ferganaazot JSCs and Karakalpakstan to create capacities for the production of high-demand products based on chemical raw materials and semi-finished products.

16 projects worth $2.6 billion will be implemented in Navoiazot, 4 investment projects worth $334 million - in Ferganaazot, and 3 investment projects worth about $687 million - in Karakalpakstan.

The scientific cluster will also include Tashkent Chemical-Technological Institute and production laboratories in Chirchiq.

'We have allocated very large funds for the chemical industry. Energy-efficient technologies were introduced. Now it's time for this industry to create added value. There are great opportunities for this. If we put in order the quantitative and qualitative indicators, the price policy in each direction, exports will grow by 5-6 times', Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
