DALLAS -Fifth-grade students from 33 Dallas ISD campuses recently showcased their poetic talents at a districtwide poetry slam at Skyline High School. The event awarded scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 to the top performers, giving them a helping hand to pursue higher education. The competition encouraged students to express themselves creatively around the theme "Rhythm of My Life," fostering a love for poetry and providing a platform for students to shine.

Digital Palooza celebrates the work of young artists
Dallas ISD is gearing up for its annual Digital Palooza exhibition. Open to all district families, this year's event kicks off at noon, tomorrow, April 27, at Emmett J. Conrad High School. Attendees will see student-created work using various technologies and interactive displays where children can practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Dallas ISD helps students make financial sense
Recognizing the importance of financial literacy, Dallas ISD is committed to equipping young students with essential financial skills that will serve them later in life. To help scholars start this vital lesson, 75 schools will host Bank of America representatives May 6 as part of the first Financial Literacy Day. These sessions will introduce various aspects of money management from basic budgeting to understanding investments to students across all grade levels.
