COMPULSORY TRAINEESHIP FOR STUDENTS AT THE EU DELEGATION TO THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

Are you a university student interested in international relations? Is a working experience part of your course? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in the Kyrgyz Republic?

What we offer?

A traineeshipof up to6 months for students undertaking a compulsory traineeship as a part of their studies, within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, starting in June 2019.

The Political, Press and Information Section closely follows political and economic developments in Kyrgyzstan and reaches out to political stakeholders, civil society and the media with the aim to further strengthen EU-Kyrgyzstan relations. It also promotes people-to-people contacts and exchanges, including by bringing European culture to the Kyrgyzstan people. The section also coordinates the public communication of the European Union in Kyrgyzstan.

Main tasks:

  • Media monitoring on political developments in the country and the region;
  • Attend events of the interest of the PPI Section and report and take notes;
  • Assistance to the press and information activities of the PPI Section;
  • Logistical support to various events organised or supervised by the PPI Section.

Qualification or special requirements:

  • To be a student enrolled in the 3rd, 4th, 5th year at the local Kyrgyz Republic university in a relevant field (political science, economy, law, history, international relations or international development)
  • Knowledge of the functioning and policies of the European Union; basic knowledge of and interest in the work of the European Union in Kyrgyzstan,
  • Excellent analytical, communication and drafting skills in English
  • Excellent computer literacy,
  • Willingness and ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Self-motivation.

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a compulsory traineeships (Article 9 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 - Unpaid compulsory traineeships for students already residing and studying in the host country)

All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation and living expenses must be borne by either the trainee or the University.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
