Appeal to locate woman and baby missing from Ashfield

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman and a baby missing from Sydney's Inner West.

Summer Matika, aged 22, and Khatanee Matika, aged three weeks were last seen at an address on Liverpool Road, Ashfield, about 6am yesterday (Friday 26 April 2024).

When they could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were notified and commenced enquiries into their whereabouts.

Police hold serious concerns for both Summer and Khatannee's welfare.

Summer is described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 150cm - 160cm tall, of a medium build, with long brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a yellow/orange hooded jumper with black track pants.

She is known to frequent the Riverwood, Campsie and Wollongong areas.

Anyone with information into Summer's whereabouts is urged to contact Burwood Police District or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
