Lincoln Financial Group Named to Forbes List of Best Employers for Women

RADNOR, Pa., July 27, 2022 - Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced today that it has been named one of Forbes' 2022 Best Employers for Women. This prestigious recognition is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

"At Lincoln Financial, we strive to create a workplace culture where women feel empowered to lead, inspired to learn and driven to meet new challenges in their careers, as well as find balance for the things that matter most in their lives." said Jen Warne, executive vice president, chief people officer. "We are extremely proud to receive this Forbes recognition, which showcases our ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment, and we remain committed to prioritizing these efforts. I would like to thank our company's amazing women for their many contributions that have led to Lincoln's success!"

The Forbes list of The Best Employers for Women was conducted through an independent survey by Statista that included around 50,000 in the U.S. employed at companies with a minimum of 1,000 employees. The sample included more than 30,000 women. Respondents were asked about work environment, diversity and how likely they would be to recommend their employer to others. Female respondents were asked to rate the employers on parental leave, anti-discrimination policies and pay equity. The final ranking reflects employers who received both the most recommendations and boast the most gender-diverse boards and executive ranks.

"Lincoln strives to create and maintain a workplace environment and culture where women can succeed," said Allison Green Johnson, senior vice president, chief diversity officer, Lincoln Financial Group. "Women comprise 62% of Lincoln's workforce, hold 51% of all management positions and represent 41% of the officer-level population."

In May, Lincoln welcomed Ellen Cooper as the first woman president and chief executive officer (CEO). Cooper is also a member of Lincoln National Corporation's board of directors. Cooper was named CEO-elect in August 2021 after 10 years as a Lincoln executive, serving most recently as executive vice president, chief investment officer, head of Enterprise Risk and the Annuity Solutions group, and a member of the Lincoln Financial Foundation board.

To support its diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, Lincoln enlists the help of employee groups, including its seven Business Resource Groups (BRGs). Since its inception, Lincoln's Women's BRG has empowered women to make an impact on Lincoln's workplace, the marketplace and community.

The company's inclusive values are further evidenced by other awards in 2022, like the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, the Corporate Equality Index and a perfect score on the Disability Equality Index.
