Kitty Wong Named IBM Hong Kong General ManagerFrancis Ngai retired after more than 30 years’ service

Hong Kong, July 9, 2021 - IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that Kitty Wong has been appointed General Manager of IBM Hong Kong, effectively July 1. In her new role, Kitty will have overall responsibility for the IBM business in Hong Kong and Macao. She succeeds Francis Ngai who will retire from IBM in September after more than 30 years of service with the company.

Kitty joined IBM in 1989 and has held multiple sales leadership roles in both mainland China and Hong Kong, including South China General Manager, China Mid-Market General Business Leader, Infrastructure Technology Services South China Executive, and Hong Kong Public Sector Sales Leader. Most recently, she was a Financial Services Sector Leader for IBM Greater China Group.

'Kitty is a seasoned IBM sales leader who has delivered consistent growth and developed new markets. With her extensive experience in mainland China and Hong Kong, I am certain that she will lead IBM Hong Kong to assist our clients to transform and capitalize on the growth opportunities under the new normal,' said Alain Benichou, CEO, IBM Greater China Group.

Francis joined IBM in 1987 as a client representative and has taken up several key leadership roles including Director, Commercial Business, IBM Greater China Group where he achieved significant growth; before taking the helm as General Manager, IBM Hong Kong.

Kitty and Francis will immediately begin transitioning, extending over the following weeks.
