The Minister of Defenсe of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, launched the docking of a section of the railway track at the reconstruction section of the Baikal-Amur Mainline in the Amur Region.

The head of the military department gave the appropriate order after the report from the scene of his deputy General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov.

General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov reported to the Minister of Defenсe that the railway troops continue to carry out tasks for the reconstruction of the Ulak-Fevralsk section of the Baikal-Amur railway, noting that the section passes through permafrost and is the most difficult along the entire length of the highway.

To date, a group of 1.5 thousand personnel and 700 units of modern equipment has been involved in the implementation of this task.

According to Dmitry Bulgakov, the work has been organized on a wide front: deforestation and clearing of the right-of-way have been completed in full, 845 thousand cubic meters of earthworks have been completed, which is 113% of the 2021 plan.

Dmitry Bulgakov also said that on Thursday, December 9, at 10:00 local time, the laying of the rail and sleepers will begin on the Ogoron-Moldavsky stretch of 12 km.

Summing up the results of the work done, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that the first, very important step has been taken.

"Having completed the work on this difficult and responsible area with high quality and on time, the military railway workers have once again proved that they are ready to tackle state tasks of any complexity. I am sure that in the future you will continue to fulfill your military duty in an exemplary manner, confidently master your profession," said the head of the military department, wishing the servicemen success in their future work.
