Panther Track and Field Competes at Bison Team Cup

UNI track and field team travels to the Bison Classic in Fargo, North Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility. The teams competing include NDSU, Utah State, and South Dakota. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m. with weight throw, followed by long jump and pole vault at 12:00 p.m. Running events at 1:30 p.m.

Three UNI Panthers earned MVC track and field athletes of the week following the Hawkeye Invite on Jan. 11. Cam Bauer earned male field athlete of the week with two first place finishes and personal records in the pole vault and triple jump. He currently stands in second and fifth respectively in the MVC rankings for each of these events. CJ May ran a personal best of 2:26.15, earning a first place finish and second on the UNI all-time best list for 1,000 meter run. brought home the only first place finish for the women at the Hawkeye Invite in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.72 and currently sits at third in the MVC rankings.

The UNI Panthers have dominated in field events on the men's and women's side, taking mutliple spots in the top-20 in the MVC rankings. currently holds the top spot in shot put, and ranks third in the NCAA with a distance of 19.58m. Teammates (3rd), (4th), and (6th) follow King in the MVC rankings. King (3rd) and Yodts (1st) also hold the two of the top three spots in weight throw, In the long jump, (2nd), (2nd), and (3rd) sit in the top three after two meets.
