Pallone Statement on the Passing of Congressman Donald Payne, Jr.

"New Jersey has lost a truly great public servant far too soon. Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. was more than a Member of New Jersey's Congressional delegation - he was a part of our family. Don affectionately called me 'Uncle Frank' whenever I saw him, because we cherished the strong relationship we forged following the death of his father. We worked together to improve the lives and health of New Jerseyans. His fight to raise awareness for diabetes and colorectal cancer prevention as well as his advocacy for replacing lead pipes in Newark epitomized the very definition of public service. I join everyone who knew and loved Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. in mourning his passing and honoring the legacy of his service to our state and our country."
