On November 1, 2018, the business incubator of Ukhta State Technical University hosted the opening and plenary session of the second International SPE Symposium on hard-to-recover and unconventional hydrocarbon resources.
The symposium was held within the framework of the XI all-Russian scientific and technical conference (with International participation) 'problems of Geology, development and exploitation of fields and transport of hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves'.
The aim of the Symposium is to introduce students to the development of scientific and technical sphere in the field of oil and gas industry. The International Symposium on hard-to-recover and unconventional hydrocarbon resources allows to unite the efforts of specialists of different profiles in the development of the industry: to strengthen ties between the scientific and engineering communities, to attract investments of domestic and foreign companies, as well as to exchange experience in solving the most pressing problems.
The moderator of the plenary session, first Vice-President of the regional Association of employers of the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of the Republic of Komi Oleg Abramov made a welcoming speech. He noted that scientific activity in Ukhta is gaining momentum, and the SPE Symposium is one of the incentives for its development.
The first Vice-rector for educational activities and strategic development of USTU Dmitry Belyaev also addressed the participants of the session. 'On behalf of the management and staff of Ukhta University, I would like to welcome you and wish this Symposium to be as informative and useful as possible for you,'
During the plenary session featured four presentations:
• 'Prospects of cooperation of Russia and China on the market JNTT' (S. V. Razmanova),
• 'Experience of International cooperation during the transfer of the Russian innovative technologies MTM (AQUA-MTM)' (Kamaeva S. S.),
• 'Import Substitution on the example of the rock cutting tool for drilling in the casing and equipment for its descent' (E. A. Kovalevsky),
• 'The development of the GTL-technologies and prospects for their use in a wide range of tasks, from processing of associated petroleum gas to disposal' (G. V Buslaev).
The workshop was attended by the representatives of the branch of 'Gazprom VNIIGAZ' in Ukhta, 'Transkor-K', 'BURINTEKH', Perm national research Polytechnic University, Kazan national research technological University, 'Ural-invest'.
The Symposium was organized together with Ukhta state technical University by The regional Association of employers of the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and the International society of oil and gas engineers SPE with the full support of the Ministry of industry, natural resources, energy and transport of the Republic of Komi. The structure of the University responsible for the preparation of the Symposium was its subsidiary LLC 'USTU-invest'.
