A portion of S Beneficial Drive from Channelside Drive to Knights Run Avenue closed on Monday, October 15, 2018, for sidewalk construction. The City permit to install a temporary sidewalk on the west side of S Beneficial Drive from Channelside Drive to the Tampa History Center has been extended. One (1) southbound lane on S Beneficial Drive from Channelside Drive to the Tampa History Center closed daily between 9 am and 4 pm.
One (1) southbound lane on S Beneficial Drive from Channelside Drive to the Tampa History Center will be maintained during construction, with delays.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east side of S Beneficial Drive at all times during construction. Once the construction of the temporary sidewalk is completed, the existing sidewalk on the west side of S Beneficial Drive between Channelside Drive and the Tampa History Center will be closed, as part of the construction of a new high rise building on the southwest corner of Channelside Drive and S Beneficial Drive.
It is anticipated that all lanes on S Beneficial Drive will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, weather permitting.
The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
