Rostelecom enters renewables with its optic and digital solutions

Moscow, Russia - July 19, 2021 - Rostelecom PJSC (MOEX - RTS: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), Russia's national telecommunications operator, today announces that it has built an optic infrastructure for the Marchenkov Wind Farm in Rostov and powered it with its proprietary digital solutions. Operated by Russian Nuclear Agency Rosatom's wind power division NovaWind, the Farm was commissioned beginning of July 2021 with a total installed capacity of 120 MW - a power consumption equivalent to that of a town with over 100k households.

The Marchenkov Wind Farm is the fourth project commissioned by NovaWind in Southern Russia. Rostelecom has developed digital infrastructures for all its functioning wind parks. By supporting the renewables sector, Rostelecom seeks to assist the energy industry in large in reducing the overall environmental footprint and by doing so, to contribute with its solutions to equally sustainable and efficient energy production.
