The GSHF Thanks Mr. Edison Bell, Sr. and Mr. Jack Davis

On Saturday, April 10th, the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame was honored to host Mr. Edison Bell, Sr. and Mr. Jack Davis, along with many of their family and friends, for a private viewing of our Negro League Baseball Centennial exhibit and a catered lunch. Mr. Bell and Mr. Davis played for the Macon Cubs, alongside and against numerous other outstanding Black baseball players, and were the inspiration for the exhibit, which opened in February here at the museum and will remain open through the Summer. Our goal with this exhibit was to highlight and showcase the Georgia players and teams that participated in Negro League Baseball and to educate the public on this often overlooked but very important chapter of American History.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Bell and Mr. Davis for their contributions to the League and for sharing their stories with us, and a special thank you to Mrs. Sandra Latimer for reaching out to us in an effort to get those stories told.
