Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with US Deputy Secretary of State and his accompanying delegation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, met today with the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America, John J. Sullivan, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Public Security Chief, Major-General Tariq bin Hassan Al-Hassan.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Deputy Secretary of State and his accompanying delegation, stressing the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to bolster its joint cooperation and coordination with the sisterly United States of America. He also expressed his pride and appreciation for the deep-rooted historical and strategical relations between the two countries, which are constantly developing at all levels, thus reflecting the priority of two countries to bolster these relations for the common interest of the two countries.
Major-General Tariq bin Hassan Al-Hassan delivered a presentation on the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain by supporting and funding terrorist cells, and the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Interior to counter and eradicate terrorism.
For his part, Mr. John J. Sullivan noted the continuous development of the strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America on various political, security and economic levels, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
A number of regional and international issues of common interest were further reviewed during the meeting.
