More than 300 Russian servicemen will take part in the CSTO exercise Rubezh-2021 in Kyrgyzstan

More than 300 Russian servicemen will take part in a joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian collective security region Rubezh-2021 in Kyrgyzstan.

The exercise will be held at the Edelweiss training center in September. The basis of the Russian military contingent will be a unit of the mountain motorized rifle brigade of the Central Military District (CMD), stationed in the Republic of Tyva.

According to the plan of the event, the participants will work out the preparation and conduct of a joint military operation to block and destroy mock illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a member state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Earlier, the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, said that during the summer training period, nine joint international exercises will be held on the territory of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The main event of the joint training of the troops will be the anti-terrorist exercise Peace Mission-2021.
