Located in Xiang'an District, Xiamen, Xixi Grand Bridge is 24.68 km long, with 732 piers and 17 continuous girders. Its 168m swing girder crossing the existing Hangzhou-Shenzhen Railway is the largest and heaviest continuous girder among the same type in China, and it was closed on the eve of the National Day in 2020. The remaining 4 continuous girders were completed during the period from January 31 to February 3 this year.
Fuzhou-Xiamen High Speed Railway is the first sea-crossing high speed railway in China. It is a double-track high speed railway with a design speed of 350km/h, with terminals in Fuzhou Station in the north and Zhangzhou Station in the south. It will cut the train travel time between Fuzhou and Xiamen to less than one hour, create a 'one-hour circle of travel' between Fuzhou and Xiamen, and link the three major central cities of Xiamen, Fuzhou and Quanzhou, which is of great significance in promoting economic and social development along the line.
