The South Dakota School of Mines volleyball team is slated for a weekend of RMAC action in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Hardrockers are set to face the Chadron State Eagles on Friday night at 7pm. The Eagles are 9-5 on the season and 3-3 in RMAC play thus far. They are led offensively by outside hitter Rylee Greiman and right-side hitter Shelby Schouten who have posted 145 and 135 kills on the season. Freshman setter Tori Strickbine is pacing the Eagle offense with 459 assists on the season.
Senior libero Ashton Burditt leads the Eagles defensively with 241 digs on the season. She is averaging 5.6 digs per set, which places her second among all RMAC players in digs per set. Middle blocker Chandler Hageman ranks 7th in the RMAC for blocks per set with an average of 1.2 blocks.
Friday night's match will serve as Mental Health Awareness Night. The Hardrockers will have a Mental Health Awareness pledge to sign at the door.
Saturday afternoon the Hardrockers will square up with the MSU Denver Roadrunners at 3pm. The Roadrunners are 11-3 on the season and 6-0 in RMAC play. The Roadrunner offense is led by outside hitters Kayla White and Alexis Benda who has tallied 153 and 133 kills on the season. Middle hitter Alyssa Kelling ranks third in the RMAC with a hitting percentage of .361. Joli Sadler and Jessa Megenhardt are directing the Roadrunner offense in the setter position.
Saturday afternoon's match will be Camper Appreciation Day, where all Hardrocker volleyball summer campers are invited to attend the match. Campers will receive free admission to the match as well as free popcorn, if they wear their camp t-shirt.
The Hardrockers are currently 7-9 on the season and 3-4 in RMAC play. Sophomore currently leads all Hardrocker hitters with 209 kills on the season, averaging 4.18 per set. She is currently ranked 2nd in the RMAC for kills per set while sits just behind her in 4th. The Hardrockers currently sit fifth in the RMAC in kills per set. Behind the defensive efforts of , who ranks 3rd in the RMAC in digs per set, the Hardrockers are ranked 4th overall in digs per set.
