WAYNE COUNTY- (Thursday, April 18, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Wayne County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting and is subject to change.
Back Massillon Road culvert replacement - NEW IMPACTS - Back Massillon Road, just east of the intersection at SR 57 (Wadsworth Road), will close Monday, April 29 for a culvert replacement. SR 57 will remain open with single lane traffic. The detour route will be Back Massillon Road to SR 94 north to SR 585 south to SR 57 south to Back Massillon Road, and reverse. Estimated completion: Friday, May 3, 2024State Route 21 Major Rehabilitation - State Route 21, from the Stark and Summit County lines, will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction to reconstruct the roadway. Major work includes full-depth pavement replacement, bridge maintenance, culvert and drainage replacements, and safety improvements at four intersections along the project.CONTINUING IMPACTS

State Route 83 Major Rehabilitation - State Route 83, from just south of U.S. 30 to Milltown Road, will have daily lane closures for final pavement repairs and resurfacing, striping, concrete median wall repairs, and miscellaneous finalization project work. Traffic will be maintained in one 11' lane in each direction at all times and traffic will be separated by portable concrete barrier wall.Estimated completion: June 2024State Route 585 resurfacing - NEW IMPACTS -State Route 585, from just west of SR 57 to SR 604, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times utilizing flaggers.
